First Aid
Health and Safety Training
We
offer the full range of Rescue 3 swift water, rope rescue and rescue
boat courses across the UK. Together with specialist training and
consultancy to businesses and organisations. We are the national
training contractor for the Environment Agency for water safety training
and support numerous engineering and construction sector organisations
in water related matters.
The
Rescue 3 scheme has large take up amongst the UK emergency services
and voluntary rescue sector. The scheme mirrors the requirements
and guidelines set out by The Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA)
and the fire service manual training standards for inland water operations
(module 1-5). All rescue 3 courses are also recognised within the
Fire Service team typing model and as such is ideal for benchmarking
across teams and services.
The
Core Courses / Modules for Rescue
Module
1 / Water Awareness. Suitable for all personnel who are exposed to
water hazards, but not expected to conduct rescue operations.
Module
2 / First Responder. Ideal for bank based operators, who may need to
conduct rescues from the bank or shallow water, still water wading.
Module
3 / Swift Water Rescue Technician. The requirement for technical
water rescue personnel who may need to enter the water as part of
a rescue.
Module
3+ / Advanced Swift Water Rescue Technician. An extension course
to encompass advanced in water techniques, rope based vertical systems
involving water and night operations.
Module
4 / Swift Water Rescue Boat Operations. Specific course for powerboat
operations at flood and other inland incidents. We ca deliver the
RYA level 2 powerboat element as well.
Module
5 / Management of Flood and Water Incidents. Ideal course for team
leaders and incident commanders. Suitable for Flexi Duty Officers
and other Bronze / Silver commanders at flood and water incidents.
Extended Training
Specialist training for Inflatable
life jackets. Auto inflating life jackets require specific training
in their use, fitting and checking. If you use auto inflation life
jackets as part of your water PPE system, users need to be fully
trained in their checking and use. We offer a 1 day combined water
awareness
and life auto inflation life jacket course that meets these requirements
and fulfills the employers duty of care in this regard.
Rescues from vehicles in flood and water. Our
team have attended over 200 real incidents involving vehicles in
water and have unparalleled experience of dealing with these highly
dynamic incidents. This practical course, includes the use of a specifically
build vehicle rescue simulator that is placed in water.
Team
based Rope Rescue. This extended course looks at the full range
of rope rescue techniques including team based approaches. It includes
the issues specific to the use of advanced techniques such as high
line systems.
Other Areas of Training
1st
aid. We offer first aid courses in line with the Health and Safety
Executive requirements:
Emergency
First at at Work (EFAW). A single day course for basic first responders.
First
Aid at Work (FAW). The full 3 day course as required by HSE for certain
work situations.
Remote
Area First Aid. 2 day course designed to look at specific fist aid
techniques, equipment and strategies for those who work in remote
areas remote from immediate ambulance support. Ideal for outdoor
instructors, contractors and field staff and those who work at
height or on water.
Manual
Handling. A half day course looking at the specifics of manual handling.
Meets the employers duty of care in this regard.
Fire
Extinguisher Training . A half day course looking at the specifics
of fire fighting and fire response. Meets the employers duty of care
in this regard.
